A new discovery and here it is:
Ray Santilli said, and I paraphrase: why would we make something that looks so human if we were going to make an alien?
Looking at the alien in the Santilli Footage (now Spielberg Footage) after ten years of looking, I have only just noticed (on the worst day of the year 24 January) that the shape of the eyes is the Eye of Horus, the Egyptian Pharonic elongated eye - it is not a human eye at all, not just the pupil, but also the sunken aspect around the eye.
The winged sun symbol takes on a whole new meaning.

When I was in Cairo in 1993, we visited the Museum and saw the Golden face of Tutenkhamun, only I was distracted and fascinated by a stranger standing on the other side of the casket. I think this man took on the spirit of the dead king temporarily. When we approached the stranger outside later, he was just plain and normal, an Irish tourist.
To be cynical:
STARGATE the movie portrayed
RA - the egyptian sun god as a malevolent (if beautiful) alien
(played by jaye rishardson) and i saw this at it's premiere in 1994 (and was dissappointed that they needlesslessly killed ra as he was leaving anyway)
it was directed by roland emmerich, who followed it with independence day.
philip mantle first new of the santilli footage in 1993
as far as i know.
